Octopizzo has taken to Twitter to address President Joe Biden, urging him to discuss the decriminalization of marijuana with President Ruto.
In his tweet directed at President Biden, Octopizzo highlighted Biden’s support for decriminalizing marijuana and allowing states to set their policies on the matter.
Octopizzo expressed his hope that the inclusion of marijuana-related business opportunities in discussions during President Ruto’s state visit would be viewed positively.
He emphasized the potential economic benefits of exploring regulated cannabis-related industries in Kenya, particularly for Kenyan farmers and individuals currently incarcerated for marijuana-related offenses.
The Biden administration called for a review of federal marijuana law in October 2022 and moved to pardon thousands of Americans convicted federally of simple possession of the drug. He has also called on governors and local leaders to take similar steps to erase marijuana convictions.
