Otile Brown receives his Youtube Gold Play Button

The Golden Play Button is the second creator award. It is delivered to YouTubers with over 1 million subscribers. It also comes with a YouTube letter, congratulating the YouTuber for their Youtube achievement.

Otile Brown, who is arguably the best musician in the country and top 5 in East Africa has reached a new milestone in his musical journey. 

The Dusumu hitmaker fresh from a break up with his on and off girlfriend Nabayet will be smiling all the way to the bank, after becoming the first Kenyan artist to hit 1 million subscribers on youtube.

Otile’s Youtube account actually sits at 1.06 Million subscribers and 260,901,100 combined views as of 3rd of February 2022. The singer joined the platform on April 20th, 2016, which means it took him 6 years, and a bevy of chart-topping hits to achieve this milestone.

Youtube appreciated Otile’s effort by awarding him with a Golden Play Button. The Golden Play Button is the second creator award given by the video platform. It is delivered to YouTubers with over 1 million subscribers.

The award has a similar appearance to the Silver Play Button, but is slightly larger and is instead made of gold-plated brass. It has the YouTuber’s name embossed on it, along with the message, “For passing 1,000,000 subscribers.” It also comes with a YouTube letter, congratulating the YouTuber for their Youtube achievement.

Otile posted a celebratory message on his Instagram account that read “Look at what y’all did ..y’all are some amazing human beings 🙌🏽🖖🔥thank you for the 1million YouTube subs 🙏🏼 ❤️… Obizeeeee #justinlovemusic.”

The most popular song on his channel is ‘Dusuma’ featuring Meddi with 36,800,033 views. The infectious love ballad was released on January 17, 2020. His latest song ‘Woman’ featuring Harmonize has already garnered 2,791,942 views in just two weeks (Jan 18, 2022)
