University entry points have not changed – KUCCPS

KUCCPS has denied the authenticity of rumors circulating on social media regarding an increase in university entry requirements.

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has denied the authenticity of rumors circulating on social media regarding an increase in university entry requirements.

Specifically, claims made by a Facebook user named Nyangoya that the KUCCPS has raised the minimum entry grade from a C+ to a B in the 2022 KCSE examinations have been deemed false.

Furthermore, Nyangoya falsely claimed that only male students who scored 62 points and female students who scored 61 points will be eligible for university placement according to KUCCPS.

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has stated through their Twitter account that any official information regarding student placement will be communicated through their official channels including their Twitter page, website, and other official social media pages.

They have advised the public to be cautious of false information circulating in online forums and to only rely on information from official KUCCPS channels.

The tweet read, “Advisory!! Beware of false information circulating in online forums. Information on student placement will be communicated officially through this page, the KUCCPS website and official social media pages. Kaa chonjo! #FakeNews.”
